Identity verification or KYC (Know Your Customer) is a mandatory process that all users—including Foreign Nationals (Non-Indonesian Citizens)—must complete to access the full range of services on BTSE.ID, such as buying and selling crypto assets.
Required Documents for Foreign Nationals:
If you are a foreign user, the following documents are required:
A valid passport (not expired)
A KITAS (Limited Stay Permit Card) or KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit Card)
Important Notes:Both passport and KITAS/KITAP must be active and valid
Users without KITAS/KITAP cannot proceed with the KYC process
Documents such as E-Visas, bank statements, local driver’s licenses, or other IDs cannot substitute for a passport and KITAS/KITAP
Steps to Complete KYC for Foreign Nationals via Website:Log in to your registered BTSE.ID account
Click the Profile icon at the top right corner
Go to the menu “Verification, Payment & Limits” — you'll be directed to the Basic Info page
Under “KYC Level 1”, click the “Verify Now” button
Select “Foreign National”, then click “Next”
Choose your country of citizenship
Upload your Passport and KITAS/KITAP in the designated fields
Click “Next” once your documents are complete and meet the requirements
Enter your personal information as listed in your passport, then click “Next”
Proceed to the liveness recording (a short video using your device’s camera), following the on-screen instructions
Your verification will be processed within 1 business day
Via Mobile App:
You can also complete your KYC verification using the BTSE.ID mobile app. Follow the official video tutorial available within the app to simplify the process.
