Selected the Wrong Network for a Crypto Withdrawal? What Should I Do?

Selecting the wrong network when withdrawing crypto assets may cause the assets to not arrive at the destination wallet or exchange.

If you realize that you selected the wrong network after completing the withdrawal, follow the steps below.

1. Do Not Make Additional Transactions

If you realize that the wrong network was selected, do not make another deposit or withdrawal to the same address until you have clarified the status of the previous transaction.

2. Check Your Transaction Details

Open your withdrawal history or transaction details on BTSE Indonesia and note the following information:

  • Withdrawn asset

  • Withdrawal amount

  • Selected network

  • Destination wallet address

  • Transaction time

  • TXID/Transaction Hash

The TXID can be used to track the transaction on a blockchain explorer that supports the network used for the transaction.

3. Contact the Receiving Platform

If you made the withdrawal to another exchange or platform, contact the platform's Customer Support team and inform them that the asset was sent using an incorrect network.

Provide the TXID, asset, amount, destination address, and network used so the receiving platform can investigate the transaction.

Whether the assets can be recovered depends on the receiving platform's capabilities and policies for handling transactions made using an incorrect network.

4. Contact BTSE Indonesia Customer Support

If necessary, you can also contact BTSE Indonesia Customer Support to have the transaction checked.

Prepare the following information:

  • Your BTSE Indonesia account email

  • Asset name

  • Withdrawal amount

  • Selected network

  • Network that should have been used

  • Destination wallet address

  • TXID/Transaction Hash

  • Transaction time

  • Screenshot of the transaction details, if available

Make sure the information you provide is complete and matches the transaction in question.

Can Assets Sent Using the Wrong Network Be Recovered?

Not all transactions made using the wrong network can be recovered.

The possibility of recovery depends on several factors, including:

  • The type of asset sent

  • The network used

  • The destination address

  • Whether the destination address is owned or supported by the receiving platform

  • The receiving platform's technical capability to perform recovery

  • The applicable recovery policies and procedures

If recovery is possible, the process may take time and, in some cases, may involve a recovery fee in accordance with the applicable terms.

Important Notes

Always verify the asset, wallet address, and network before confirming a withdrawal.

Once a blockchain transaction has been processed, it generally cannot be canceled. Selecting the wrong network may therefore cause the assets to not arrive at the destination and, in some cases, may make them difficult or impossible to recover.
